The Probus Women’s Housing of Victoria Inc. aims to make a difference in the lives of single women who have found themselves without the comfort and independence of their own home.
Our Residential Self-Contained Flats
Probus Women’s Housing of Victoria Inc built two blocks of flats situated in Glen Iris to provide safe and comfortable housing for women.The property at 36 Edgar Street was opened in 1966 followed by 11 Maverston Street in 1969.
The Edgar Street property has 16 self-contained flats, comprising a bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen.
At Maverston Street there are 10 self-contained one-bedroom flats and 2 flats comprising of a bedsitting room, dressing room, kitchen, toilet, and shower. A large, bright sunroom is available for use of the residents.
Affordable Living at Probus Court, Glen Iris
Both blocks of Probus Court flats provide comfortable and affordable accommodation with spacious garden settings. The flats are situated in quiet residential streets of Glen Iris conveniently close to shops and transport.
Residents have exclusive use of their flat with shared laundry and communal areas.Some car parking is available. Residents enjoy security of tenure and the opportunity to maintain an independent lifestyle.
At both properties, each resident may care for a portion of the garden if she wishes.
